lyrics

The Preacher

(Verse 1)
I understand because I’ve been where you’re at
Undecided, misdirected on your spiritual path
As a disbeliever of the heroes of past
Cause common sense is not convinced of all the miracles had
Only noticing the priests and their scandalous acts
Cause they know you’re lost and tried to take advantage of that
Damn, anointed hypocrisy to disgrace religion
Exploiting ancient belief systems to make a living
Fake faith through excuses and facades
It seems that we’ve been seeking man’s approval over God’s
But yet the world remains circling the same course
And at the end of the day we’re all worshipping the same source
But feel free to disagree and dispute
Because Jesus was persecuted just for speaking the truth
From scriptures and chapters, electrons and atoms
I refuse to come to the conclusion none of this matters

(Chorus)
From the Sun to the oceans and abyss
To the fish in the water, wind blowing in the midst
For the kids let’s forgive instead of hopelessly resist
I don’t care how smart you are, you don’t know how we exist
So put your faith into somethin’ and stop frontin’
Put your faith into somethin’ and stop frontin’
Be appreciative of the life that you got
We’re all at the mercy of God whether you like it or not

(Verse 2)
Till kingdom come let us forgive
I’m still young and I’ve got mad love to give
Till thy will be done, surpass our past actions
Passion with John the Baptist rap tactics
I practiced until the poems appeared
Wrote on scrolls over years, chose love over fear
Blunts over beers as I heed the way that faith leads
See it as the page reads, Jesus was a straight G
Which made me form a spiritual relation
To heroes over satan, miracles in the making
Stand or retreat as we hand flowers for grievances
Cause men are weak and manpower is meaningless
Lyrical synergy, forces beyond immaculate
This spirit has been with me before I could even fathom it
Yo, so stop acting like you know
Just got with flow and help somebody out before we go

(Verse 3)
So I don’t even make decisions no more
I just speak what I record and leave it up to the Lord
Who always gave me much needed love and support
As I surrendered to the floor, knees up under the drawer
Don’t feel burdened or despair over the words that I share
Cause every verse that I’ve prepared’s like a personal prayer
Yeah, to the snare and the rhythm of God’s drum
With the words from the wise tongue given by God’s son
Ain’t just another random story off the shelf
I felt the need to spread it without glory for myself
No false prophet, just a genuine promise
Cause he who wants the glory for the one who sent him is honest
So I’m not even speaking on my own authority
I feel it in my artistry, the spirit is a part of me
While sinners eagerly and evily extort it
The righteous get rewarded and don’t need to be applauded
My faith was strengthened and I’m glad to say I’m blessed
After broken periods of being Adam in the flesh
Was tempted as the heartbreak added to my stress
And felt like Jesus weeping over Lazarus’s death
That’s when I surrendered self and wrote my first poem
Whoever’s committed no sin can throw the first stone
Embedded the message in these albums
Broke off a piece of the rhyme and reached thousands
