And social media services aren’t free
Cause we’ve been unknowingly paying for them with our identity
And we make it easy for them when they look
As 1 of every 6 people are on Facebook
To the experience we lend our mind
Takes up to 20% of all time spent online
Which logs everything you do and the pages you like
Within your status updates and the words that you type
Then using that information to lie to us all
Creating detailed profiles of who we are
Including mannerisms, rabbits, and preferences
Personality, private opinions, even fetishes
Clearly eventually over invasive
Able to determine your sexual orientation
Then sell that information to advertisers
Who then send us invitations tryna add subscribers
It’s just the facts of business
That’s why most adds tend to match your interests
To maximize income with a clever disguise
The most invasive advertisement system ever devised
So as the future web is extended
Most’ll choose to embrace it, the rest’ll resent it
